whats a laptop dj ?
After more then 6 years of trial & research, finnaly ... no more of the - plastic/oil/money consuming vinyls/cd's are needed for the " art of DJ'ing ". Technology has advanced dramaticly in the last 5 years enabeling nearly any modern new pc laptop ; (2008 pentium 4 duo procesors) to become a powerfull high tec' ' musical instrument '... It not a 'disk jockey' or 'dj' any more,manipulating sound digitaly in a live envirement is the beginning of a new era,, u can actualy do something on stage besides mixing track after track,,, using 4 active sync' decks with visual wave forms(3 for mixing , 1 for samples & loops or runnig audio throu it - fellow dj for example... ) and more then 15 powerfull effects gives you enough tools to actually remix a track live !!! every live set will sound differnet... all you need is a musical ear,pation a bunch of analized tunes !!! (with analog dj gear you can just about mix 2 tracks and add the odd effect) My current set up is (2009) : pc laptop : gigabyte w551u (intel duo core),2 gb ram... (with 2 seprate operating systems, one for live and the other for the internet) midi : m-audio's - ' Xponent ' m-audio's - ' Trigger Finger ' & of course the no 1 dj software in the universe : native instruments - ' Traktor Pro '
